Mon 16th: Walked to the Hamer village and watched a cow being bled. An arrow was fired into its neck and the blood poured into a bowl. Had a taste of the blood, which was surprisingly good. Went into a Hamer hut and had coffee with the owner and her two children. Walked back to Turmi and looked around the market. Crowds of Hamer people were selling local produce and tribal artefacts as souvenirs. Had a drink in a nearby bar before walking back to camp, with a small boy holding my hand all the way. He wore only a 'Bob the Builder' tee shirt.
