Blue-footed boobies dancing
Blue-footed booby
There were lots of sea-lions on the beaches and amongst the rocks. Came to colonies of sea birds, some nesting. Saw lots of blue-footed boobies and masked boobies. Further along were waved albatrosses, some courting while others had eggs or chicks. In the afternoon we went out in the dinghies to snorkel round a small islet. There were some huge shoals of grey fish with black bars at the head end and bright yellow tails. Also huge shoals of small striped fish carpeting the sea floor in places. After circling the island we got back in the dinghies and went to a beautiful white sand beach, littered with sea-lions.

Blue-footed booby 'sky pointing'

Everything stretched skywards, the male whistles. The female honks (but only if she's impressed)
They were oblivious and we could walk right past them without getting any reaction. Returned to the Millennium for tea on the rear deck. Had a much better night.

Sat 28th: After breakfast went in the dinghies to South Plaza island. Sea-lions and marine iguanas were on the jetty and along the paths there were land iguanas which are yellow. In places the rocks have been polished by the sea-lions. Returned to the boat for lunch, sailing to Santa Fé. Moored in a deep bay and went out in the dinghy to snorkel.
