Returned to the boat for a shower and lunch, then went to the beach with the famous post office barrel, where sailors have traditionally left messages and tourists now leave postcards for others to deliver. Snorkelled from the beach. The crew and Liam had a game of football. I saw a large diamond stingray and just a glimpse of a turtle from the dinghy on the way back. Sailed overnight to Bartolomé.

and past craters to the highest point. Saw a Galapagos hawk, boobies diving into the water, a swimming marine iguana and a penguin. Returned briefly to the boat for snorkelling gear, then went to a beach. Snorkelled with a penguin for a long time. It pecked my fingers and fins and occasionally dived to the bottom, to root around in the sand, before 'flying' back to the surface and rejoining me. Later saw a turtle, with a sea-lion, in shallow water by the beach. |
