Near le Leutas
Passed nobody on the way, but when I reached le Christomat there were three paragliders soaring overhead. Walked to the Col du Jaillet then made my way down to the Fraisses car park before finding the trail again leading down to Megève. Passed another group of schoolchildren and found that the school is right at the foot of the mountain. Got back to the apartment at about 5:30 and am amazed to have taken all day doing so little. Went to the Prieuré again for dinner and had an excellent steak. I was careful to ask for it well done, as yesterdays 'medium' lamb was still bleating.

Marmot Manor...
Fri 25th: Walked out of town past the Rochebrune ski-lift and took the track around Rochebrune towards Crêt du Midi. The high grassy plains seemed ideal marmot habitat so I was surprised not to have seen any. I heard a call from above and looked up the hill to see a party of schoolchildren - they get everywhere! Ten minutes later I had forgotten about marmots when I saw a brown furry animal at the side of the track. As it ran up the hillside it looked like an overweight rabbit, but did not run like one. It had a long tail which it waved about. This really was a marmot!
