Bushman paintings in the Tsisab Ravine, Brandberg.
Sat 21st: Went on a walk into the mountains to see the 'White Lady' and other bushman paintings. Also saw dassie rats, rock hyrax, and agama lizards. Drove on through Damaraland. Stopped at a bottle store with Herero women sitting around. Continued to a campsite at the Abu Haub river, close to Twyfelfontein. Showered in the open air, had lunch, then went to the Twyfelfontein Country Lodge and swam in their pool. Our leader was interested in two French girls at the lodge, but when we got back to camp, they did show up as expected. Ralph went off in the truck to look for them.

Day 8: Welwitschia plant in the Petrified Forest. Some of these plants are over 1000 years old.
Their van had got stuck in the sand. Ralph brought them back to camp and we got dinner at around 10pm.

Sun 22nd: Went to the open air lavatory, then drove to the Petrified Forest, similar to the one on Lesbos, but with ancient Welwitchia plants. Continued to Outjo for lunch. After a walk around, we returned to the truck to find a kids band set up, using the public lavatory as a stage. The drum kit was a pile of old paint tins and other junk, but the effect was marvellous.

Ladies and Gentlemen, we present the Outjo Loo Band... The drum kit is a pile of junk, but this kid brings it alive!
