Zebra on a roll Kudu bull
After lunch, had a siesta by the swimming pool. Had a game drive in the evening and saw zebras rolling in the dust, a rhino with a small calf and lots of hartebeest around a waterhole. That night a lion came to Okuakuejo waterhole and brought down a gemsbok. The animals battled together for a couple of hours until both were exhausted. Watched and waited until 11pm but the lion was in no hurry to finish the gemsbok off. The next morning there was just a skull and spine remaining.

Tue 24th: A small group of gemsbok stand around the remains of their colleague.

Lots of wildebeest and zebra come to the waterhole but there are no elephants this morning. Set off to Halali. Saw a group of cheetahs sitting under a tree. Stopped for drinks at Halali then set off again, but an exhaust pipe bracket on the truck is broken so returned to Halali. Resumed the drive after half an hour. Stopped at a waterhole where there were eland, elephant, zebra and gemsbok. Reached Namutomi by about 2:30 and had lunch at 3:00. Sat by the pool in the afternoon. Banded mongooses wander around the camp. Had a game drive in the evening and saw dik-dik and giraffe very near the road.
Giraffe
Days 11 & 12: Namutoni campsite, Etosha National Park. Lots of birds were attracted by the watered lawns. Banded mongooses and warthogs roamed the camp. On the first night, a jackal ate our tablecloth. Grey Lourie (Go-away bird)
